If we don't change it is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic in our ocean than fish. We have to fix the disaster we created. This World Ocean Day we are once again having a cleanup. What better way to celebrate the Ocean than by picking up trash BEFORE it reaches are waters! We will be meeting for the cleanup at 4 pm at Ordinance One in Downtown New Port Richey. Disposable gloves, trash bags, and litter grabbers will be supplied. All you need to bring is sunscreen and the willingness to sweat a bit for our planet's benefit. We do ask that you register so that we have enough supplies for everyone.
Even if you can't do the cleanup please stop by Ordinance One from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Thanks to local artists we will have ocean themed art that you will definitely want to check out, a happy hour special just in case you needed an excuse to drink some delicious beer, and Keep Pasco Beautiful sustainable give aways.
This event is a partnership between Keep Pasco Beautiful, the City of New Port Richey Environmental Committee, Farmnet, People Places, Pasco County Solid Waste, and Tampa Bay Water.
